Ryanair switch fee free payment card
30.11.09
MasterCard Prepaid will become the only free payment option for Ryanair flights from next year. The current free card - Visa Electron - will attract a £5 administration charge (per person, per flight - so £10 for a return) from January 1, like every other debit or credit card.
The budget airline will accept both MasterCard Prepaid and Visa Electron as free forms of payment for bookings during December, and only MasterCard Prepaid thereafter. It claims that the MasterCard Prepaid card is more widely available than Visa Electron.
We think Ryanair should be forced to axe this fee, along with its online check-in fee, as neither can be avoided by the majority of its passengers.
