Ryanair to complete removal of check-desks
27.09.09
Ryanair will complete the removal of its airport check-in desks this week. All passengers travelling with the budget airline from Thursday will be required to check in online at least 4 hours and no more than 15 days before their scheduled departure time and print their own boarding pass, at a cost of £5 per person per flight.
Passengers checking in hold luggage will use Ryanair's new ‘bag drop’ desks (and pay their fee, recently increased by 50 percent). A spokesman for Ryanair said the changes will 'improve passengers experience' at the airport and allow the airline to continue offering the lowest fares.
It has also allowed the airline to introduce a new 'online check in fee'. Given that this appears to be unavoidable, should it not be included in the published ticket price under EU guidelines?
