Ryanair named worst family brand

Ryanair has been named as Britain's worst ‘family brand’ in a survey which ranks the country's best-known companies. The budget airline was seen as doing little to promote family values and not enough to be seen to care or listen to customers, according to the Family Brands poll.
100 famous firms were ranked by 1500 Britons for criteria such as how they treat families or their social responsibility. Ryanair came top of the worst brands while the best was Marks & Spencer. Airlines were the worst performing sector, with British Midland (2), bmibaby (3) and easyJet (9) also in the bottom ten.
Ryanair scored particularly badly, because many parents see the company as putting profit before caring or the and its extra hidden costs. But airline spokesman Stephen McNamara said the airline did not trust the survey results, adding: ‘these 'surveys' are about as reliable and scientific as the surveys on Family Fortunes!'
