Ryanair ‘ash rescue flights’
18.05.10
Ryanair will operate extra flights to holiday destinations today to 'rescue' passengers stranded by the latest round of volcanic ash cloud problems. The budget airline will operate extra flights from its bases at Dublin, East Midlands, Prestwick and Stansted airports to and from the Canary Islands, Faro and Alicante.
A spokesman for Ryanair said passengers with a booking with a return flight included that has not been cancelled and who have already checked in will NOT be able to transfer their return flight to a different date. If they wish to do this they will need to telephone the airline's reservation centre - and pay their pence per minute call charges and for a new flight, we assume!
