A man appeared in court yesterday accused of stealing £4000 worth of holiday valuables. Simon Hepper from Riverside, Great Dunmow, faces 33 charges of theft at Chelmsford Crown Court in a trial that is expected to last for a week.
The 50-year-old was arrested in June 2006 following an operation by Essex police investigating a series of items reported stolen from aircraft at Stansted Airport.
The list of items reported stolen by holidaymakers and business travellers included passports, mp3 players, CD players, wallets and mobile telephones. He first appeared at Harlow Magistrates' Court in March 2007.
