Ryanair increase baggage fees for summer peak
07.04.10
Passengers flying with budget airline Ryanair will pay higher baggage fees throughout the peak summer period. Check-in charges throughout July and August this year will go up from £15 per bag to £20. The rise will apply to bookings made from midnight last night.
A spokesman said the increase was meant to ‘incentivise all of its passengers to travel light’ throughout the peak summer season months. The £15 check-in charge will apply outside July and August, the spokesperson added.
Last year lots of passengers missed flights because the airline's ground services firm struggled to cope with peak passenger numbers.
