Airport wants 50 female security officers
07.02.10
Stansted is creating 50 jobs for female security officers in time for the peak holiday season, the Evening Star reports. A recruitment campaign has been launched to find the new staff who will be given 6 month contracts at the hub.
The roles are required to deal with the summer passenger peak and are targeted specifically at women because, under Department for Transport rules, female security officers are required to search female passengers.
Cathy Brennan, Stansted Airport's Recruitment & Training Manager, told the newspaper that although the airport already has similar numbers of male and female security officers, more of the women are in part time positions, creating the need for extra staff during the peak season.
